Thanks Guys, and yes I'm real pleased with the way it's looking. But now I need you opinions on wether to fit one of these in place of the original speedo/tach

While I like the retro look of the originals, I'm thinking they look waaaaaaay too BIG, especially with the small headlamp and little flat bars I'm running. Whad'ya think?????

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Been a while, but now I'm almost done!

Just need to tidy up the wiring/cables and fit some seat foam. Also paint the front mudguard and fit the side covers.

my favourite cb750! the lines, the colours, the details, it all works.

regarding digital speedos, i just bought one of these : http://acewell-meter.co.uk/Acewell%20Speedometers/ACE-3xxx/ACE-3251.htm?action=full&id=4

when i got it i was impressed at how small it is, plus lots of great details. havent fitted it yet, but i will this month and will do a write up when i do.

Just a quick update.
New coils fixed the cool pipe on No2, and it now runs and idles just great.

Also, bike now has full MOT and is street legal :)

Been thinking about the side panels, and with the lower, slimmer seat they just dont fit up close like they should, using the standard peg-in-hole arragement. Sooooo, this calls for major surgery.....

Now they fit much better, I think, plus I can cut the old mounting tabs off the frame to give a smoother look.

In case you were wondering, panels are now held on with velcro.......... which, as we all know, is the engineering solution  ;D

Just thought you may like to see these decals I've added to the seat. As most of you will know '736' refers to engine size  ;)

Seat foam is fixed on with 'velcro'. See how it stands up to everyday riding.

Will post some pics/video of the bike out on the road.

Cheers
Steve

imo the front end of the bike needs to come down a smidge to match the rear. but you know what they say about opinions. everybodys got one. one of my fav builds.

Thanks guys.
MC750; yes know what you mean about the ride height. May give it a try.

Right now though, I'm having some problems.....
Just got the bike back on the road and took it for MOT a week ago and completed 30 mile round trip. Went like a rocket!
Bike passed MOT. Did a few jobs; tightend up throttle cables, adjusted clutch, dropped the needles in the CR carbs (mid throttle bog) and removed the dB Killer exhaust insert. Thats it. Then had to leave it a few days due to working away. Then I go to statrt it last night to go for a run and it runs like pig with pipes 1 and 2 stone cold. How can this be when it was running so well just 10 days ago?
Anyway, charged the battery (now showing 13.1V) but problem is still there.

Bike has new coils, leads and plugs. CRs are bench synched and I'm running Newtronic ignition. But like I say, nothing has changed since the 30 mile trip :-\

Any ideas????

Start with the basics. Make sure they are getting spark and then i would do a real carb sync

Well, what I did do last night was remove the tank and plugs and crank the motor to see what was going on in the dark!
Bearing in mind these are new coils, leads etc. there was a whole load of arching going on at the point where the black/white feed connected to the L/H coil. I guess this is contributing to the cool pipe problem?
Is there anything to check to reduce the arching problem apart from ensuring connectiions are clean and secure. But like I say these are all new parts :-\

Wow :),
well I don't know what to say. I'm dead chuffed to be considered on such a high profile Honda site!!

This has given me the inspiration to get out in the garage and try again to get that misfire sorted.
Anyhow, the 'ol scrambler is now running well now I've cured the arching at the coils. Here's a few more pics of the completed project:

Cheers
