Topic: CB500 w/out rear sprocket cover?

Ive been doing a swap between my two bikes. (took an 18" rim from a CB500 wheel and 16" rim from my 750 wheel and swapped w/ new spokes) Anyways, Im cleaning everything up and polishing the hubs, etc, and My CB500 sprocket has a shield over it. Can I run without this? I would like to detail the sprocket and paint it up to match the polished hub.

its not a chain guide or anything,its a beautifier,omit it if you want,take a close look at say cafe and rat bikes,if the covers on you cant see all the holes!!

You might want to cut all the cvr away except area supporting shift shaft,I did this on my Yoshi Kitted CB590 and helped a lot.Pics on here somewhere.Bill

Hi Bill, You are right. But he's asking about the rear sprocket cover.
