Just bought a 72 CB350
« on: December 15, 2009, 01:17:39 PM »
Hi:

I just bought a running but a bit rusty bike, and I've started the parts search. I need mostly cosmetic items at this point. Can anyone recommend any of the following:
1. good seat cover replacement
2. exhausts (I found one Sirius in Canada, but they don't seem to have header pipes)
3. tank stripe decals

If you have any other good part supplier recommendations, I'd be interested in those as well. thanks
Shawn

PS I'm in the Boston area. I posted this on the Honda Twins forum, but I haven't received any response, and many of the questions apply to SOHC4's as well.

Shawn,

My starter bike was a 68 CB350. Ran real good for a 350. Honda used a hotter cam that year. If you could find one that is known to be 68 you'd enjoy the difference.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

the cb350 is a great bike. i bought a 72 350 two years ago for $300 and put alot of time into it. looks pretty nice now. i had the seat reupholstered by a nice old lady at a local shop. the seat came out better than most pre-sewn covers. cost me about $65. for aftermarket exhaust i'd go with the Dunstall replicas from JCwhitney (free shipping + $15 off $100 purchase code). they look close to the originals and sound great. http://www.jcwhitney.com/DUNSTALL_STYLE_MEGAPHONE_MUFFLER?ID=12;0;0;0;100001;ProductName;0;0;0;0;2006467;0;0

Thanks. I never thought of JC Whitney. I get mail from them all of the time.

Can someone send me a link for paint codes? I tried a couple of old links but they were broken.

Thanks alot
