For several days I have contemplated starting a build thread but I know it will be warm soon. So I decided to install new clubmans and headlight ears. It all went terrible wrong from the first wrench I touched, now my ignition switch spins around like it is brain dead, my fairing wont re-fit unless the light is pointed up like use less . I got really nice bars from Santa, knurled and sturdy but the ears suck, really want to clean up the front with small fairing mtd signals ................... Starting to whine Here are pics, also almost broke my back when I tipped her off the stand !
This is the Hell #$%*, I love her !
Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

Today mine decided to let some fuel go from #3 float bowl gasket (I think). Was nearly home and could smell fuel, looked down to see a little pool of it sitting on the top of the crankcase, above the clutch cover behind the barrels. I turned the fuel off just in case and being only around the corner from home, got her in the garage and wiped it up. Cleaned off the bowl which was a bit damp.
I have drain tubes which were dry, so I am assuming it's not a stuck float, but rather a bit of fuel escaping around the gasket when cornering or whatever (or sitting on side stand).
Question - is a hot crank case (normal running temp) enough to ignite the fuel? :-\

sounds like there's a story in that george........
So you reckon it won't ignite if it does it again before I can get a new gasket onto it?

Teased me mercilessly. Finally got the side covers for my "new" 750A, so she's lookin all pretty (but doesn't wanna start), rolled her out into the evening sun for a photo shoot and ....camera batteries are dead. Dang. Back into the garage....and noticed the spare motor leaked oil from a cheesy JBweld repair......

Seriously !
Fuel will ignite when least expected ,( in my experience) and it has been so cold here in the shop I am  very wary of the propane heater I  have been using.
I do lots of carb rebuilds and if the gasket is streched or broken the bowl is going to leak. Please don't try to use gasket sealer because it usually ends up in the jets . see pics

Tried to figure out why #2 carb is not supplying gas to cylinder.
