Thanks for the pics, my brother went down easy on his 750 after lunch last week, bike OK leg not, we had wanted to go. I stayed home and replaced the window that some punk knocked out of his car. Sometimes it just sucks. :-\

It got worse, the bruised leg got a blood clot and he ended up in intensive care for a few days. coming home tomorrow. His ankle went under the footpeg, I thought he had broken something.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

If you're really interested we've got a track day coming up at Blackhawk Farms.  One group will be all vintage bikes.  If you've got good tires and your bike doesn't leak you should come out.  $150 gets you 6 or 7 sessions on the track with instruction included.

Thanks for the invite! Unfortunately my 550 is still in the "project" stage. I have looked into track days at Blackhawk, I found one for street bikes only (no racers), which would be good, so I won't be tempted to keep up with the pros! One small concern I have is that my bike is a 95 gpz 1100. Probably the worst bike to take to my first track day, lots of horsepower, but not the best handling, Kinda heavy, sprung soft in the front. My wife won't let me take it to the track until after our trip to the Smokey mnts and deals gap in early August, She has watched me race cars for 15 years, and knows that when I strap on my racing helmet I instantly loose a few million brain cells, and she's afraid I'll bring the bike back in a box! LOL!

Just curios Bob, I have never been to a vintage motorcycle race; how serious do the competitors take the racing? Is it more for fun, or win at all cost?

My 350 made it into motorcycle classics magazine. First picture is my bike in the foreground.

I was at the nascar race. When the cars were going it was fun but that half-hour red flag was boring and all of the cautions sucked. It takes a long time to go around that track at caution speed. I think my favorite part was the noise ;D
