Play dumb until you get a summons, then continue to play dumb.
Like people said here the letter looks bogus, play on it if you get called to the carpet.

It doesn't look very official to me, could be some crusty, old, nosy codgers that like to write letters and stuff 'em in mailboxes to piss everybosy off.

Hey Me, where is this in St. Louis?

South County, Oakville.

it aint a motorcycle baby its a chopper!..zed?? oh zeds dead!!!

hahahahah. I love it.

Yea, I plan on ignoring it. In fact, once the weather warms up, I think I am going to blast some Springsteen and work on it in the driveway with my shirt off. I need to work on a beer belly, though. Got all winter for that.

sounds like you might have to comply
is there a time limit on some things like a camper in the driveway for a couple of weeks?

This reminds me of an old X files episodes. It was about a monster who lived in the sewer system of a subdivision of homes and anyone who was caught in violation of the CC&R's would be murderded.

I'm sure you're joking, but lay low. Rember it's not your home. As long as other homeowners have campers then don't worry. Rules are put in place for a reason, as silly as they sound.

I was figuring on south or maybe west county, up in norco people had more things to worry about than a motorcycle or trailer in the driveway.

I live in a HOA community. So far we have had only one battle and that involved someone who wanted to built a house that didn't exactly conform to the "review board" rules. Lawyers got hired....really ugly....and after all that they wound up building the house exactly as they wanted it and it looks great.

I think that rules that keep the houses from falling into disrepair and maybe looking like something from the Beverly Hillbillies are fine. My neighbor has four kids and a two car garage. How do you handle that when they could have six cars total? Well maintained cars/bikes parked on driveways should not be banned....imho.

They probably wouldn't appreciate my neighbor's cannon firing either.  We've never had a crime problem- crazy people shooting cannons tends to keep thugs away.

So you've run afoul of the Tidy Patrol.... bummer. I hate when that happens.

Anyhow, does this sound funny?.........

Looking for a place.... go to the realtor..... tell her what I'm looking for..... hands me a stack of listings to check out..... about half of the flyers have "CC&R - Yes" down near the bottom.

I pick one from the stack and ask a question: "What are the restrictions on this property?"

The answer didn't make sense at all: "You have to make an offer on it before I can tell you."

WTF.

Needless to say, no CC&R on the deed here.

The old man next door moved here in 1939 and dam near every rig he ever drove was beached out there somewhere. I didn't #$%*. (wouldn't mind having one or two of 'em anyway, like that '41 White for starters)

Like they said - conform or move.
