Easy Battery Modification
« on: January 15, 2010, 03:40:22 PM »
When trying to place the battery terminal bolts through the cable, hold the tool in the other hand, lifting the nut under the terminal post...you just run out of hands. So, cut a small length of clear hose (less likely to perish)just big enough to go vertically under the terminal nut so's to hold it in place. I used to araldite the nut in place on the dirt bike battery, but now use this trick on the R1 battery as this one lies on it's back, making it even more difficult to hold the nut in place without this trick.
Bikes...they're in the blood.

Nice!  I do the same thing except I put the tubing in horizontally, so that it acts like a bit of a spring.  Also don't have to be exact on the length of the tubing this way.

I've been doing this for a while too. The vent hose from the battery works great and it usually stays in place the life of the battery. Great tip!
Chuck dont need oil. Engines run cause they are afraid of chuck! ;D
