There is a silver lining to this. I found when I took the motor apart AGAIN that the head does not appear to be joining tightly to the cylinder block. There was oil on the head gasket and the head surface. The dowels may be too long or something else is wrong. I've changed the dowels and retorqued the head. A friend is dropping by to do a leak down test on Wednesday.

My first thought was carb work, but really I can't think of anything I've done to my bike that I haven't had to redo!  This is my first bike, and I admit I don't know what the f&*k I'm doing, but with the help of the forum I always get through and feel good that I did it.  I love having a bike that you can work on.

Seems like everything I do on my bike I have to redo!  ;D But that should make it twice as good as before, right?

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've unracked and cleaned/blown out my carbs.  I'd probably have enough to buy a cheap pizza and a beer. 8)

Everything I do, I think I do twice or so, too. The carbs have stayed 'done' but will have to be repeated if they ever clog again...  I have a creepy, touchy helicoil that had to be redone 3x (that's scary work, 'unscrewing' a broken helicoil out of already iffy aluminum)

Raul, I'm going to have to do like you do and take pictures.  I'm the same way with my meticulousness until things are closed, then questioning myself. :D

My digital camera is as valuable as a tool as any other in my tool chest.

If you are worried for staining yours with greasy fingers, spend $20 on a used 3 Mp camera out of eBay. I have thousands of pictures of the innards of my bikes, cars etc. They come real handy at rebuild time, or just if you need to post some pictures to help somebody who is going through where you've been before.
