What grit should I use when cleaning up a SS sink

Yea, this is a bit out there but it is SS.

Moved into this new to me house a few months back and the POs kinda scratched up the sink perty good.  What grit sandpaper would you recommend to take it down to a decent newish finish?  Would you buff it up as well?

I have done some SS parts on momma's bike and I realize it can be a bit of a pain but those parts were also small enough to hold in my hand on the buffing wheel.

It is a nice deep sink.  I would rather work it a bit instead of replace it.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.
