Vincent Black Shadow on Top Gear
« on: January 26, 2010, 09:43:09 AM »
I saw an episode late last night when I was up from pain killer withdrawels lol...

It was a Top Gear episode where they race a steam train, a jaguar, and a vincent black shadow across part of England. The three fastest vehicles in 1949 or something like that. Hammond was on the Black Shadow and it was cool to see one actually being ridden that kind of distance...anyone else see it? I'll try and find a link for some info about that episode. The rest of the episode was good too.

Interesting comment about the asbestos brakes.  Never really thought about it but I did some research and found that most brake manufacturers were using asbestos until the 90's.  :o

When will someone reproduce the vincent engine? You can get a new S&S Harley 45 now.

I'm sure there is a small company in Australia that is already doing that. They are very expensive though..
I will post a link if i can find it.
There doesn't seem to be a road model anymore but the race model puts out between 135 and 165 HP.
