It's not bad, the magical unlocker is supposedly  a mixture of acetone and ATF fluid.

From what I've heard a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF works better than anything off the shelf.  TwoTired posted a write-up a couple of years ago comparing the major brands and the ATF/Acetone mix, and the mix came out on top.

Yep, supposedly that is the magical thread breaker, I haven't had a bolt yet that PB and some leverage couldn't get off personally.

thanks for the link Gordon, very interesting. so my question, is the acetone in the mix safe to use on rubber and near paint?

westondc, might want to change the thread title to PB Blaster, not BP blaster like is now...so if someone searches they can possibly find it easier?

I love PB Blaster myself...easy to have sitting around in aerosol cans instead of storing or making some strange concoction that sounds like a major fire hazard lol.

Good stuff. We had some pretty stuck, rusty bolts on the CL350s we just bought and it did the trick. I wish we had used that stuff on Kit's CB650. It would have made life a little easier. That one had some seriously stuck #$%*.

I would try the mixture too if I could be sure what kind of container to keep it in between uses. It sounds like a good way to go and much cheaper overall.

I'm not sure about paint or rubber apps.

Since both nail polish remover (acetone) and ATF are sold in plastic bottles I don't think storage should be much of an issue.  A plastic spray bottle would probably work fine.

I don't think atf/acetone would be very friendly to paint, but it's probably ok with rubber parts.

I've been using that stuff for years.  Works great.  I have about 5 cans of it because every time I start up on a project I can't find the old cans so I go out and buy a new one.

As a bonus, if you buy it at ace hardware, it shows up as "blaster oil" on the receit.

Actually  I have both, WD-40 and PB Blaster.
WD-40 has uses the PB Blaster doesn't.

I am sickened by the smell of nail polish, heavy acetone etc etc so I'll stick with what I have.
Must have a sensitive nose I guess.

If you guys like PB Blaster, than you should try AeroKroil. Best stuff in the world. Better than PB for sure.

Kroil? in the orange can? good stuff. We used it a lot in on the printing presses where I used to work. I can't find it around here or I'd buy it.
