as usual the book will be 'better' than the film.
Not always.
Jaws was a better movie than book.
The Shining was a better movie than book. The movie
Contact I
may have liked a
tiny bit better than the book too. Of course, these are just my opinions.
The Silence of the Lambs was about the
same as the movie, but you might have thought the book would be much better. In the book, H. Lecter had 6 fingers on one hand BTW. And the famous line from that movie (you know the one...), there was just
one word different in the book than the movie version. And that one word made that line a
lot more clever in the book version. I was very surprised they didn't catch it and keep it for the movie. It would have made that line a lot better IMO.
But yeah... usually when you read the book and it turns out
not to be better than the movie, you feel
really cheated....
