rectifier test results for '76 750F
« on: February 25, 2010, 06:47:08 PM »
I had a question about the results I got on my 12 point rectifier test.  When checking the individual diodes they all read right around 525 in one polarity, and I get no reading on reverse polarity.  Does this mean that my rectifier is in good working order??

Update..

After checking my wiring, I found that when rewiring my bike with a santee style electrics box, I failed to hook up the green (ground) wire that comes from my stator.  All of the other wiring looks good, but can neglecting this one ground wire be to blame for my non charging woes?? :-[

Well of course.  Don't you have to connect both terminals of the battery to get power out of it?  Same putting power into it.

The green wires are the NEG connection from the charging system to the battery.
