what are Kawi H1's selling for these days?
« on: March 01, 2010, 09:54:11 PM »
i have a chance to get 2 Kawi H1's with a couple of sets of old but still solid GP expansion chambers. supposedly theres enough parts to build one running bike and nearly enough to do a second one. theyre in orlando and the guy only wants 500 for them both. is it worth a 16 hour round trip and 500 to me? if so, i think i can get my Danelectro sold to but them AND the big bore kit for the 750

Post your question here.  I think it IS worth it.  They're only gonna get harder to find & cost more money..

69 worth it's weight in Platinum.

70 worth it's weight in Gold.

71 Worth it's weight in Silver.

On up. They got detuned and were sold as cruisers. Generally a boring ride. Long gone are the effortless wheelie days. I restored a 74 (Yawn).... Couldn't ever get the money I put in it. Everyone wants the early models. Later models far less.

$500 is cheap for 2 H1's, I always found getting parts for the Kwakas difficult and expensive, maybe that's just being in li'l ole New Zealand though. ;)
You'll be needing more sheds soon Bucky! ;D

between the 52" wide tool box/chest/top cabinet and the bike lift i need more shed space now. i'm trying to talk my next door neighbor into letting me use her empty storage shed to store some parts and the suzuki titan if i get these 2 H1's theyre 71's Bodain. i'm going to get these motorcycles for sure now. my neighbor is moving to the sanford area this october and she's going to pay me to load and drive the box truck with her stuff in it, i'll buy the 2 kawis with that 500 and i'll even have a 26 foot box truck to haul em back in.

From my VJMC magazine, at the Las Vegas auction in January, a 1971 H1, condition "3" out of possible 6, 6= basket case, 1=excellent, the 1971 H1 sold for $4,250.
