What, I get no credit for finding a German soldier wearing a pith helmet riding a motorcycle?
I thought I did pretty good there.

Besides, how many pith helmets did the Wehrmacht wear in Europe? ;)

You mean The Pickelhaube....(plural Pickelhauben; from the old German Pickel = "point" or "pickaxe", and Haube = "bonnet", a general word for headgear), also "Pickelhelm," was a spiked helmet worn in the 19th and 20th centuries by German military, firefighters, and police. Although stereotypically associated with the Prussian army, the helmet enjoyed wide use among uniformed occupations in the Western world.

Is that your helmet Schmitty? A mate of mine has an original WW1 (they didn't wear them in WW2) officers helmet mit schpike, I'd love to get one to wear on my Triumph Rocket 111! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

No Terry, not mine. But I do think you'd be the Belle with the Balls if you found one to wear while cruisin on that Rocket III! :D ;D :o

Every time I see one of those Pickelhaube's though it makes me think of that old Three Stooges bit where they knock the old Kraut over the head causing him to fall back onto the spike of one setting in a chair and he gets poked in the arse!!! :D :D
