Geez, that sounds a bit "do it yourself", what did he send you mate, two lengths of pipe?

yes i know this and i have em on and i have put the pinch bolt in and i'm worried they will wiggle up and down, there is a hole drilled on the top of the bars but it lines up with the fork caps. in his pics of em mounted he has a bolt mounting em to the caps. does anyone know if i'm gonna have any problems if i drill and tap these caps?

Yeah mate, thanks for the link, they're a copy of some dodgy clipons made by Dunstall or Rickman back in the day. You'll need to drill and tap your caps, or like you say, they'll just flop up and down. Cheers, Terry.

ok guys, thanks for the replies. i talked to carpy and he suggested either tapping the caps or welding a bolt to em and use a nut to tighten. i decided to drill and tap, just for a cleaner look. thanks again.

Have you considered going with a different type of clip on? I got the type the clamps to the fork tubes underneath the top tree. Partsnmore for like $45 I think. Fit, work, and look great if you ask me.

Those clip-ons are similar to the Dunstall clip-ons for the CB750. The Dunstalls have a much larger hole that the fork cap goes through and secures to the top triple clamp. Raask make a replica of these clip-ons and cycle exchange sells them.
