So...

I just posted my first thread and I think my first thread should have been about my bike rather then asking about gas tanks

Well let me introduce you all to Alessandra. She is my 1979 Honda CB750F Super Sport. I bought her last year from the orignal owner with
very low miles for a killer deal. Over the past year I have just been riding her and getting her running spot on!

My future plans are to build a twin turbo or single turbo setup, single sided swing-arm, electronic HYDROGEN fuel injection, more or less a ground up build with the goal of taking her out to bonneville and attempt to get her to go 200MPH.

1979??? I thought '79 was a DOHC bike.....

maybe it's a 78? you're right, 79 is dohc.

Yup, certainly not a '79. Good ole black engined 77-78 F.

Planning for 200 mph, huh? I will certainly be watching this build. Looking good so far.

Thinkin' its a 78 too, can just make out the orange decal on the black and orange 78F. Good luck with the project, good progress thus far. I really enjoy watching a boosted project. Seems you're loving up the bike, have fun with the build!

Edited to add, could be a maroon/red and orange decal original too.

To me they are very good and I believe achievable goals. I will always shoot for the stars!

Definitely keep your eye on this bike and this build, I promise it will be a good one.

I have a real fetish for Carbon Fiber as you will see as this build goes on, and I was just expecting
more for the price as far as weigh goes. Benji gave me a killer deal and helped me out a lot and I
would definitely refer people to him, but im going more for Form and Function and weight to me is
key.

Thanks again and Im going to try and log my progress more because I would like to keep this thread
as a journal and portfolio, so please keep it clean and positive.

You wanna REALLY save weight?

1. Get rid of the front fender
2. Get rid of all the blinkers
3. Switch to a A123 battery from www.orientexpress.com, and get rid of that heavy "brick" battery
4. get an aluminum oil tank

That will be the major weight loss you can achieve.

That's a pretty cool exhaust, did you weld it up? Looks like you chromed it afterwards too. Definitely looks like the Leo Vince pipe.

UPDATE!

The exhaust and some carbon fiber work is being
done right now. Exhaust should be done tomorrow.
Then off the the plater to have the header nickel
plated.

I think I missed that the first time around, are you serious? You're gonna need an awesome sidecar for that Stephen Hawking! Not saying you can't do it, go for it, but how do you even begin to approach that? A reinforced tunnel and seat to protect your nads from explosions would be my first bet.

Speaking of seats, that carbon one is sweet.

Just got her back and we're one step closer to completion.

Im really liking the look of the exhaust! Adds a sporty and modern look I think.

Just a few more things to do before she's ready for the summer.

P.S.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a new throttle assembly and cables?
Mine feel like they have binding in them! Es no bueno! Im looking for something in
the racing category. And one last question. Does anyone know if there is a company
out there that makes a nice rear set kit for my bike? I have been looking and searching
with no luck! I guess no one like the rear disk set-up.

Google Omar's Rearsets.

If too pricy for you....then you can always weld on some custom made brackets and install modern sportbike rearsets.

I have RAASK....quality is pretty good.

Hey Hey!!

A few updates...

I was able to finish my engine wiring harness, tear down the front end, send headlight bucket and oil color cover in for carbon copies, install new clip-ons, take in upper factory tree for CNCing, Ceramic coat headers.

Waiting on my new cables to get here and trying to still find some nice rear sets (this has been a pain and im really just thinking of making some Carbon Fiber rear sets). Trying to find to find some wires and widen the rear a bit. Thinking of getting the rotors drilled. Trying to find new sprockets and a nice gold chain. Carbon Fiber front engine mount. Brembo front brake master cylinder. RC51 rear master cylinder. Nice air filters. Oil lines.
