75 750 planet blue paint code
« on: March 07, 2010, 09:15:11 AM »
From what I can tell, planet blue is not a candy color and should be OK to match.  Does anyone here have a paint code for it?   Also, the decals do not look like they are cleared over-is that correct as well?    Any help would be apprecaited.

The only code for that color was published years ago by a company called Lubri-tech, which went away years ago. The code was exclusive
to that company and does not match anything published now.
I'm no paint expert, and my 750 is that color. I've been told that it is probably possible to match. IIRC it is base coat-clear coat. The decals on my O.E. tank aren't cleared. If you find someone who can find an exact match formula, won't you please share it with us PBM
owners? :) There's a sight called vintagehondapaint.com that shows it, comes as a kit if you decide to go that route also. I've never seen it on a bike in person, so I don't know how close it is to original, but I have Sunrise Orange from there on my 550 and the match is fairly close. The quality is very good and the guy seeling it is a stand up guy.

I am going to try to match it as the bike has 6500 miles and was stored insdie, but something spilled onto the tank and ruined the top. I am going to try to have them scan the good part of the tank or a side cover to see if they can match it.
