What is it with bikes?
« on: March 07, 2010, 07:21:29 PM »
I have a cb650, cb750, kz750b, and I've been offered a kz750ltd for 500 bones which I have been seriously considering.  Someone tell me why I feel the need to own more bikes???
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

$.25 psychology;  Perhaps a diversion to distract from problems within?  Messing with motorcycles (or indiscriminant sex, eating, gambling- whatever) is something you feel like you can control and deal with- as opposed to what scares the beans out of you.

Not a fun idea, and I'm probably projecting here.  Mostly because of financial necessity, I'm down to 3 bikes now.  I have an inner rumbling of rapacity that I still deal with, but simplifying things some has been rather freeing, too.  Not as much maintenance, and fewer niggling bills like reg, insurance, taxes, maintenance items, etc.

if it makes you happy, and isn't (relatively) harmful to yourself or others then don't worry about it  ;D

A different bike for different moods?
Maybe this is the guy version of women and shoes?
Maybe it's the desire to have something to do?

Maybe it's the desire to have something to do?

maybe boredom with our current, and need of something NEW.
Had similar conversations with the wifey over the weekend. (no, we did not discuss a NEW her  :D )
She did agree only 2 mc's would fit in the garage, so the XS400 will be up for sale soon, and the search for another CB will start..   :P
