Brake pad purchase advice
« on: April 24, 2005, 08:02:41 pm »
I'm looking for a suggestion on a set of brake pads.  I've got a caliper all ready for pads and I'm hesitant to use the 25+ year old still-in-package pads I picked up at a swap meet.  I know that the stainless disks on our bikes are not the best for braking but I have to stick with the stock disk (drilled) because I'll be running the bike in AHRMA's Novice Historic Production class.

So what pads should I use?  Can anyone suggest a manufacturer and supplier?  Does anyone know of a brand that I should definitely stay away from?

The bike is a 1970 CB 750.  Anything that will fit the first 5 or 6 years of production should do the job.

Thanks!

-Bob

I'm assuming it's a K0. I went to the Honda dealer and checked, they have them, but they were outragiously expensive. I'm sure there are other sources also, but I bought both pads from CMSL.

We'll all be someone else's PO some day.
