Good point. In my career dealing with thousands of electrical connections controlling multi-million dollar equipment, there's globs of silicon #$%* everywhere.

And heat shrink tubing and a lighter are so prohibitively expensive.

I used electrical tape on mine just because I didn't have any heat shrink (preferred method) and wasn't about to make an order specifically for heat shink tubing.

I was just too lazy since i had 3 rolls of electrical tape, and the fact that I still had to wrap the entire harness witch still looks like a rats nest up front, just with environmentally sealed connectors.

in my carreer of not having a job I figured silicone would do just fine.

I got my led Angel Eyes in and started tearing down my gauges and I don't think there is any way that this thing will fit underneath the face plate.

I got the 80mm and everything. got any close up pics of this bad boy installed ?

Pic didn't work I don't think. But not only is the depth seemingly not there but the diameter. It looks like it needs to be bigger round as well.

And this is on the tach side. Where the odometer switch us located it sits right in the way of where the led should be mounted.

Not all SOHC CB gauges are the same diameter. As an example, the 72 CB500 and 74CB550, both of which I've owned, have drastically different diameter housings.
