Sorry, not related with the original post. I just noticed your avatar, CitizenMe. I received the other day the book I bought, "bikes of burden", and the picture in your avatar is taken from it, just in case you didn't know. It is a pictorial book about how bikes are used as mules in Vietnam, only a couple of text pages and the rest are pictures.

I would love to see that episode you mention, but it is still not shared in the net... :-)

Haven't seen that episode but I have mixxed emotions on "Pickers" series...
2 professionals, driving the rural areas searching out prime targets and offering elderly people bottom dollar for items they know are collectable.
The episode of the old farmer in a motorized wheelchair waiting for them outside his barn, in the sun, for 45 minutes, while they ravenged the inside, without him... well... kinda left a bad taste in my mouth.
Sure the people don't have to allow them to look, or sell... But these folks are not looking to have a sale before this "Team" shows up.

I agree. I like the show for what they find, but often had the feeling they are taking advantage. The only episode I felt they were up against it was the one where they had a lead on a rare Vespa. The owner knew what he had.  ;)
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

come on guys.  They invest travel and time to locate stuff that is wasteing away when it could be put to good use by someone.  They obviously are not getting rich and they are always respectful of the sellers.  We all face the its worth alot more than that seller everyday.  How many times do you resurect something that does not cost more to save than it is worth?  We collect because we love the hunt and the save and we are addicted to vintage motorcycles.  I went and looked at a poor example of a 77 750A that had tons of problems and the guy wanted $1500.  I did not belittle his bike and I did not make an offer because I did not want to insult him but he will never sell it for more than $400 or $500.

Like I said.... mixxed emotions. i Didn't flame them, And yes I watch it, right after Pawn Stars. I know the items are sitting in barns, nothing good would have come of them... but still, just a little un-nerving sometimes I guess.

I saw the episode you're talking about. I would love to visit that place just to walk around and look at the stuff!
