Looks great!

I picked up my engine pieces from the coater last week. Fantastic! We discussed coating the cylinders and head. Definitely no on Mike's expensive head. Then we turned to the cylinders. Not as expensive BUT after discussing the "at home" BBQ grill method of removing the liners and the need to bake the cylinders at 380 degrees to sweat out oils, etc then bake the coat at 380 degrees we decided not to coat the cylinders. My guy is good but.... we left nothing to chance. 

Just something I thought I'd throw in. If you do it and all is well I'll be pissed I didn't go ahead  ;)

Not coating the head shouldn't affect HP.  ;)

...guess I missed that part.

Just hate to see guys put money and effort into a motor, and not touch the head......you leave ALOT of power on the table when you do that.

Yep, I have THE head and it will be put to good use. Just won't be powder coated.

There just isn't enough time when we get this close  ;) I was all ready to prep clean the engine parts, inventory my seals and gaskets, mic the bearings, install the lower studs after chasing the holes and GET AT IT until the phone rang and one of the agencies I signed on with asked me to work 8 more days this month. Money talks. Spare time is scarce once again. I'll be watching you.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Jesus man, the difference between a stage 3 port and the Cobra head's port is extreme!

Here is the Cobra 1000cc intake throat


And here is the Rattlesnake 890cc intake throat.


These photos are really poor and the difference is still so obvious. I wish you guys could stop by and put your eyeballs on it, it's like night and day. I need to avoid elevators for 11 days so I don't get any sexual harassment suits.

Here is the Cobra crank next to the Rattlesnake crank. Of course the Goldenrods are gone. They're somewhere in Germany hopefully being put to good use. Much more machining and at a much greater depth on the Rattlesnake's crank. No fluting, but the benefits of a flute on the mains is arguable.

Jeff and Rainier has the cases. Man, I actually talked to that guy back in March when I was shopping for media blasters to clean the cases and the block. He insisted on using steel media to blast them so I took them somewhere else. I didn't get a good vibe then, but when I talked to him yesterday about the coating he seemed confident and on the same page.

If he eff's them up I'm coming down to Tacoma to cry about it.   ;D

i am anxious to see how the cases turn out.  I was a little scetched on having the cases done, but someone has to be the guinie pig, lol. ;D  I am sure Jeff will do an excellent job on the cases.

 They don't have to be immaculate. I just sprayed Sam's cases....the biggest pieces of S I've seen. Nothing easy sometimes.

The guy that did mine had them blasted with a plastic media. Said it wouldn't affect the surface appearance.
