Bearing color Help
« on: March 27, 2010, 05:41:00 PM »
When ordering bearings do you match part #'s together for each journal?

For example I found that there two different "A black" crank/case bearings, one is 208332-001 and the other is 208333-001. The A black ones seem to be the only one with this in question. The others only list one # per letter/color code.

With the con rod bearings there is only one # for the B black but two choices for the other codes.

Can anyone shed some light on this please? I'm trying to purchase a couple bearings so I can plastiguage and start the fitting/rebuild process for my '76 CB750 SS.

Hi Matt.I have looked at the shop and parts manual.I can't find any bearing #'s like what you have listed. For instance, black main bearing is 13315-300-013 and black rod bearing is 13215-300-013.Also,only one part # is shown for any colour, rod or main.   Rock On

When I did my motor I had both kinds come from bike bandit . One was a satin finish on the bearing surface and the other was polished . I believe that the tolerance will be the same for both . I think its just a matter of parts being superseded over time . I have both in my motor with no trouble .

Hi Matt.Sorry bout my confusion.I would say as long as both halves of bearing shells are same colour in Bike Bandit, dimensions should be same and compatable with each other.    Rock On
