camshaft for a '76 CB750F
« on: April 01, 2010, 10:42:01 AM »
A friend of mine left a torn apart '76 CB750F in my basement. He was going to part it out but I haven't heard from him in years so I thought I might resurrect it.
So first thing I need is a new(used off ebay) camshaft but I don't know which parts match.

I did a little searching here and found that '77-'78 f models have a different top end so that wont work. I found that K model camshafts will work.

My question is will any year camshaft from the K models work in this F model top end?
What other concerns will I have with a new camshaft from the K model or will it all go back together the same?
I am trying not to break the bank on this because I am not sure what I am getting into with this engine.

You can use any of the cams. The K0/K1, K7/K8, F0/F1, F2/F3 would give the best performance.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
