unnecessary.

Do a search.  A good cleaning with "The Works" and a final cleaning with baking soda and water mix to keep flash rust away, and it will look like new.

If that won't do it.....then it's best to get another tank.

I removed all the rust in my tank with Evapo Rust; works great. However, I lined/sealed the tank with Red Kote and I fear that the Red Kote is breaking down do I'd like to remove it and start from scratch, thus spawning my interest in sand blasting (or whatever method to remove the Red Kote).

Another member once recomended POR15 to me. It seems like a solid product, he said it has been a handful of years and still going strong, when I get my tank back I will be going that route.

there's a local shop that does media blasting with walnut (or hazelnut?) shells for Western Cycle before they sell them. My 650 tank was done that way, and the results look beautiful.

I'd try the Works first, though (be sure to follow up with enough baking soda + water to neutralize the stuff, or you'll flash rust bad)

keep in mind sandblasting will warp the crap out of the sheet metal.....your tank will requrie ALOT of mud (bondo) to get back to where God and Honda intended it to be....I guess media blasting is an option....Still, The Works and a good sealant is the way to go, IMHO.

My radiator shop tells me you can apply more Red Kote over the old after it is thoroughly cleaned.  It disapates with time.

if it's like other tank liners it thins with methyl ethyl ketone(mek). that may work as a solvent if you soak it for a bit. if you reapply just prep it right first with weakened metal etch or similar and it should hold. I have a lined tank that has been good for 4 yrs or so now.

This is probably more than you had in mind, these guys work wonders on pretty bad tanks.

Not cheap, but you asked who sandblasts the insides and they do. They cut them open, blast them, repair them, weld them back up, coat them, prime them and return. Pretty amazing, but again probably more than you had in mind.

sheet metal has a tendency to warp when sandblasted.
