Rearsets shift linkage @ output shaft on CB500
« on: April 05, 2010, 04:22:00 PM »
I picked up a nice set of gsxr rearsets. They have everything I need to make them work on my CB500. The only hangup is that the shift linkage (shift arm) that attaches to the output shaft on the transmission seems like it wont fit very easily onto my output shaft and I do not want to force it and strip either of them out. Does anybody know if that same piece from a 90's CBR or other bike will work on the CB500?

Heres a pic for reference. (Not the actual piece from my gsxr rearsets)

Yes those newer Honda parts share the same spline, the Suzuki does not.

R1 shifter linkage matches the splines for my cb350f.

Also check fast from the past.  They have a huge selection of rear set parts and should be able to help out if you can't find what you are looking for.

I used a linkage from a CB400F
for the rear sets on my 500.
It works great since the 400 linkage
has an offset, and a threaded heim joint
already in place.
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.
