Uh-Oh! Leftover Carb Parts?! (CB550)
« on: April 07, 2010, 06:42:02 PM »
I need some help!  I thought I'd finished assembling and bench synching my carbs today, then I found these:

Any idea where they go?  I've looked at pics I took during carb disassembly, and I don't see them in any of the shots.

one goes between the carbs to hold the throttle return spring. why there's two, I've no clue.

Are they new parts that came from a rebuild kit or old parts that came from your carbs?
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

+1
It goes between 2 & 3 to be precise.
To have 2 of them did you have a second set of carbs?
Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators.
We haven't met yet.

When you disassemble to put that piece back in, make sure you mount the spring on it as well, and save yourself a headache.

Man, do I LOVE this forum!  You all are awesome!  Yep, I bought a second set of carbs because of a bad bushing in my first set's stay plate.  That's why there are two.

Whew.  Again, THANKS A TON!!

If the two parts are brass and if  they had o rings on them they  go at the the bottom of the air needle jet! The spring hook was not brass it was stainless steel on my CB550F
