Racers @ Adria
« on: April 12, 2010, 05:02:14 AM »
Hei HiPo's

Was eventually quite busy fetling my bike (some stupid oil leaks here and there), still, found some time to keep HiPo people happy with pictures from the second classic race meeting of the season in Italy.

NEW EDIT - ok managed to create an online gallery, the order is all upside down, bit looks like it works.

Will add some text about each folder soon. Race report will follow.

SOHCS:

Just a little idea for easy rear sets in that 400F. simple!

The dismantled motor was of a guy who made all the way to Adria from Czech republic only to break a cyl "bolt". Then I noticed that there were no studs, turns out that in order to be able to take the head and cyl block off, in this 650/50 hybrid he switched from studs to allen bolts that  he screws into the cases form above. Havent decided if its smart or stupid.

#642 deserves BOM title, just too cute and clean with motocicliveloci body work.

#672 & # 611 were built by tuning friend Flavio Crispi form Milan, notice his smart hydraulic clutch conversion!

Last two, the Sicilian army of the Mancuso bothers from Palermo, older borther was vice champs last year in 4-str. 500. The bikes are fast, THEY are fast (younger brother in pic does also modern italian SBK) but they push them to the limit too, this time they collected 3 DNF's.... all are with 70's bimota replica bodywork.

Two strokes:

Some interesting tiddlers, 50 c.c. racers, it used to be a GP class for many years. You have ot be tiny to fit on something like #167.

The rough CZ's belonged to some Czech guys, that's what they been racing at club level during the communist regime.

373 & 524 are stunning 250 Montesa's.

Twins:

#627 is a quite rare 500 ducati parallel twin.

#607 an unusual Kawasaki 750 Twin racer.

#602 belongs to the 4-str. 500 champ Damiani. Last year he won on a fast CB450T, this year he brought this Paton to our class and nobody is really happy racing against a 125kg, 70 hp GP machine with street based bikes. He is a demon rider, he didnt even need that kind of advantage to retain the title. Guy with sunglasses is owner of Altinier Motorcycles, vintage racing machine dealers and Damiani's sponsor.
