UNSTAMPED EARLY MUFFLERS....SANDCAST/69KOs
« on: January 24, 2006, 11:04:30 AM »
I have a set off "odd"pipes/mufflers that are very different to the stamped "300"series stuff I have, and they differ as follows:

No markings...period

Right upper muffler....no "brake pedal indent"

I presume these are the original 69ers/sandcaster pipes...? :-\ ???

They are in a bashed condition...2 are solid with scrapes,1 has been brazed, and another needs brazing, and a fair smattering of battery acid burns on inner faces....the same bike had a weird kickstart....the top lever part was bent forward (but it is a KO length)and the brake pedal (again a K0 part..?)bolted on in the usual way,but twisted out to miss the engine bolt/nut/footrest attachment...Ive never seen anything like it......Sadly Im absolutely useless with digital cameras and computer stuff,so no pics yet...maybe soon....

Basically Im looking for constructive comments in respect of the mufflers and potential repair ideas...also,what would they be worth......sensible comments please.....

I may be moving house soon,so take em with me or sell....?

Thanks one and all

Pics would help. I have unmarked pipes on my K0, well #2-#4. The number one pipe was history after 22 years in storage.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

No brake indent would indicate KO pipe my #1200 and #31000 KO both have original pipes and both have no indent. geocities.com/indian440. Pipes are expensive to restore. Unmarkeds are worth some bucks if perfect or close. Beat ones are not. I've restored orginals and just the rechroming is more than most would want to put out. If you don't need them get what you can on Ebay. Eli
