first bike- cb750k build
« on: April 12, 2010, 06:43:33 PM »
Well i got my first bike and i want to give it a new look and go through the bike to make it nice and safe. So what else would i do with a 78 cb750 then take it down to the frame and rebuild it. Well see how this goes. Im going for a cafe look thats still confy to ride 2 up. Im doing this all in my tiny 1 car garage with my limited tools. Heres some pics from when i got it home.

P.S. ill add pics when i can figure out how to make them smaller lol

It ran when i got it. rode it around the block a few times. carb bowls were leaky and leaky fuel lines. front brakes were shot. allot of cleaning up. seemed to run good altought i only was doing about 30 on it. tires look good.  Plan is to clean it up, fresh pain, replace bearing and fluids and get it back on the road. Im on a low budget so im trying to make it rideable this season and upgrade stuff as I get funds.

Good luck with her. You have a great starting point and at least she ran before the teardown. Keep posting and have fun!

Frame got 3 coats of silver and 3 coats of satin clear.bikes going to be silver, blue and black. Adjusted the values and cam chain tensioner. Started to paint the engine. itll be 2 tone gray and black. Had an extra seat so started shaping it to see how it would look.

Got some more work done today. cleaned the carbs up, painted them and put on the new allen scews and gaskets. then worked on the seat more. Looks better then before. Did a mock up of old seat and new one.

Well i haven't updated in a long time. Got the bike what i thought was most the way done for now but I don't really like it so decided its time to re do it. Here's a pic. Want to go more chopper/ bagger style.
