Duc won't run on one cylinder
«

SO it is finally spring here in Vermont and I have been able to get my duc out and ride a bit. Still a bit cold, but I'm riding non the less. Today I went to start the bike to ride to work and the front cylinder won't fire.
2000 Monster 750. I checked the plug and the plug itself is fine. Fires nice and bright when plugged into the other wire. I actually happen to have a spare coil that I plugged in and that did not fix it either. I got the coil a few years ago when I had a similar problem and the issued turned out to be something else (that for the life of me I can't remember what).
What should I look for? Spring is here and I want to ride.

Swap the ignitors / cdi boxes and see if the problem follows them or not. If it does, if it does, you need a new CDI, if it doesn't... chase the wiring and suspect the pickups.

The pickups are triggered by a bump on the flywheel.

Thanks for that site!!! I've been looking for a fiche site for my duc forever.
It has been confirmed, it is the pickup coil for the horizontal cylinder. This is good a bad news. The good news is that I now know what's wrong. The bad news is that I think they run about $200. Any suggestions of where to find one online? Or do I have to go to a dealer for that?

There is a used one on ebay for $150, but if you can get a new unit for $200 I wouldn't bother.
Woundedduc.net might have something, email them and ask.
