Good luck with the dog. Love is EXPENSIVE. My ex took the German Shepherd only to learn the expensive-in-the-first-place-certified-to-not-have hip displasia dog needed hip replacement. One side only though = ~ $5K PLUS a $1700 MRI. She took her in for the procedure only to learn that she had 'the worst ruptured disc they had ever seen in a dog' which needed to be done first and they could get her in right away! Amazingly the price tag was the same. Not sure if she'll get the hip. Loved the dog, not the ex. She listened to everyone except me. WTF, it's ONLY money. Not my philosophy! Common sense was lacking in the ex and that was only one of the many issues. Glad I didn't let her spend my money freely! ps I kept the cat. he's inexpensive. Food and litter.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

The dog has now had both rear legs operated on. Around $8K now. Before we had even paid off the first leg she began limping and was in pain. Today she is now at 100% and running around trying to catch our little bastid dog. All of the bills went on my credit card and is slowly getting paid back.

I have been very inspired to get the bike out of the shed and back into the works. Bikes like Mooradians, and Rusty Olives are on my mind.

The cost doesn't suprise me Stev-o.  Guess I've been lucky with my Danes over the years; althought I'm sure I paid to remodel the vet's waiting room. ::)  Rxman, a 'certified to be free' shepherd??  About as real as the tooth fairy, good thing you kept the cat. ;)

We had 2 cats....then they got eaten by coyotes. So then my wife brought home a rescue min pin. He is now on prozak. The boy is insane and such a world apart from my lab. I will post pics.

Also FFJ bike "Atomic". I will post pics of them in this thread for any that are unfamiliar. I have finished my cnc and am now inspired to get back into the bike. UG. I bet it is rusty.

My wife and daughter keep bringing cats home and they disappear, presumably eaten by coyotes...yum!

Frig it. I need the money, space and one less project. Everything is for sale except the wheels, frame and rear swingarm.  Wheels I need, frame and swingarm are too modified to sell. I will make a list of prices or just shoot me an offer. No trades and no PayPal.

Could think outside box and go to shaft drive, but then grafting a cx or gl tranny into a cb could be challenging.

Looks like it has a big dent on the left side. How is it?

I got the "cafe bagger" bike running last weekend then spent the whole week daydreaming about my next bike.....and...the frankenbike is still up in the tent. If I had scrapped it 2 months ago I would be fine but now I am flip flop flop flopping about tinkering with it again. Think I have quit and killed this project 3 times now. (Last ran in 2005)

The other contributing factor is the fact that I now have the milling machine up and running in my basement and no longer have the bike and the tools 30 mi away from each other.

What else are you going to do with your time?  cough cough c cb550ksidecovers ough   Sorry, must have something in my throat.   ;)

Seriously, though, mill away until it's done, or something better falls in your lap.  It would be a sweet bike...  I followed it for the longest time and was kind of bummed not to see an end product with your vision and fab skills.

Cheers,
G

Sidecovers? There is something I don't know about these sidecovers? Have you been making sidecovers? Do you have any sidecovers left for a 500 or 550? Or a 76 550 f, I could really use some sidecovers.
Frankenbike just needs a little tweeking, hell, it's almost finished, can't give up now.
