Hello all!! This is my first project, and I thought that I would post it here in the project shop so I could get feedback and advice as I go through my build.
I was given a 78 cb750f by my wife's uncle. The bike had been sitting for about 3 years, and not really taken care of before that very much.
After getting the title transferred I got right to work. I have taken apart the carbs. I cleaned them (picture of them clean below), and placed new gaskets in them.
I have taken off the tank (which needs to be cleaned and sealed) and plan on cleaning it up with a Por-15 tank kit (pictures of that will follow).
I cleaned and painted a few odds and ends (battery box) just to keep myself busy.
My next plan is to change the plugs, oil, and oil filter and try and start it.
It is still far from finished, but I am loving the process.
Future plans for the bike call for:
-new bars (not sure about either adjustable clubmans or drag bars)
-Por-15 frame paint (chasis black)
-new tires
-possibly adding a new seat (I am not too fond of the stock one)
-I would love to add a set of Carpy's 4 into 1 pipes
That's pretty much where I'm at. Any help, or advice on parts/brands would be greatly appreciated.
