That is absolutely tragic!  I work as a fire/medic, and routinely deal with law enforcement at the city, county, and state levels.  The majority of the officers I work with are very professional, and take their jobs very seriously.  The officer in the video, however, seems to me to be in the wrong in this incident.  I found myself angry at the officer as I watched that video.  I am not privied to the whole story surrounding this incidnet (that is for the courts to work out), but if this officer is found guilty, I hope he is punished to the full extent of the law.

What I notice is the attoney trying to say it looked like the rider was reaching for a weapon.
It did Not look like it to me.
Fortunately most cops in Ottawa are not so trigger happy.
Laugh at least once a day.

Me either. It looked like he was just looking over his shoulder to see the officer. Why didn't the officer tell him to put his hands on his head while maintaining a defensive position? All easy for me to say after the fact but it sure looks like he overreacted.

when i get pulled over (notice i said when, not if) i keep my hands on the bars until the officer gets there and asks me for registration and insurance and i move REAL slow. i also hand him my cwp if i'm carrying.
