'73 CB750K3 Head rebuild- need torque specs
« on: May 15, 2010, 02:07:23 PM »
Rebuilding the head on my 750K3, I would like to know the torque specs for the cam tower bolts/nuts, the bolts that hold the rocker shafts in place, and the two bolts that attach the sprocket to the cam.  Not that I don't believe what people post on the forum, but if someone can provide a link to a manual (?), that would be great.

I have assembled everything and have put the valve cover on.  Started reading some posts and saw some torque values thrown out there for other models- my Haynes and Clymer only have specs for the head studs and 4 bolts in between the cylinders.  Glad I'm asking before the motor returns to the frame.

The cam tower bolts are 8ft/lbs and the cam sprocket bolts are 13-15.9ft/lbs. There is not a specific spec for the rocker arm bolt so they are the standard for a 5mm bolt 2.5-3.6ft/lbs.  Honda has been asking most sites politely to pull all of it's manuals.  They may be there but are getting scarce
