'73, '76 and '78 K motors
« on: February 01, 2006, 11:44:20 AM »
Another dumb question. I have  '73 and '76 motors I haven't heard run (they look terrible) and a chance to get a mostly whole '78 that looks good on the outside. Are they all similar enough inside that I may be able to make one good runner, maybe 2,  from this pile of stuff?
Thanks, Cliff.

Well MOST ofthe parts are interchangable. However the 78k motor has all the refinements and is mechanically the strongest motor.
There are however head differences and this was talked about within the last couple of weeks. Something aboutoil galleries and such.

Eldar, you're right of course, it's been talked about just a few days ago and apparentley talked to death before as well! And in FAQ too.
As Rosa Rosa Dana used to say....."Never mind".

The differences are mainly with the 77/78 F2 motor. If the 78 motor is a K, no great problems.
