Which Spec to Use for Valve Lash?
« on: May 15, 2010, 07:07:48 PM »
I recently put in a Webcam 58a camshaft into my cb550.  I just realized that the Valve lash spec from Webcam is .004 inch for both intake and exhaust.  I set mine to factory specs of .002 intake and .003 exhaust.

I suppose I know that I should use the Webcam spec, but I was just curious as to why it's so different?

I would just go with their specs, they are not a great difference from yours.

I run a cam that uses .012  as opposed to 0.3 and .004 stock

Maybe their cam's metallurgy makes their cam expand a bit more?  That must be the case as I think their cams are just hardweld repops.
