 Found this on the tank seam about 24 hours after putting gas in the tank. There's a similar blister toward the front of the tank, too.
 I have some RedKote. Looks like I'll give it a shot and see how well it works.

 I cleaned the inside tank prior to painting, but I have some very fine, powdery rust residue in there. The local radiator shops either can't be bothered to clean it or say it'll ruin the paint. They told me that it's OK to use the RedKote over the fine, powdery rust. Thoughts?

Can't you wash it out with phosphoric acid to get rid of the rust bits?  It might eat a hole through the paint where the rust got through but those spots are probably ruined anyway.

Gosh that is a beautiful paint job there Scott. Love that gold. You really should etch the inside of the tank if you want 100% good bonding. I have Red Kote in 2 of my tanks. My ruby red KO had the same deal as you are going through now. In fact, I am getting it back from the painter this week. My Red Kote failed and I had it done by a radiator shop. It was not his fault though. We found the top of the tank thin in a few spots. So I had it silver soldered and re-coated. Now it will be better than new. So I did lose my first paint job and had to have it done over again. You can try your idea...who knows maybe it will work and all you have there is a small pin hole. Problem is...how you going to get rid of the bubble in the paint. There is no bond now of that paint area to the tank. I enclosed a pic of the bubble I had. Good luck and I hope you can get it solved.
