It's marketing.  Just take a picture of a unit tucked into the cleavage of some gianormous boobs on a cold day in a bikini top that leaves little to the imagination with the caption

"MY points are amplifed with genuine HondaMan ignition components!"
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

HM has a 'permanent' post in 'Bikes and Parts for Sale'.... that's where the OP belongs, otherwise to look at it as just a shout-out for 'kudos' is perfectly reasonable when you make such a post on the Tech Forum just for max. readership..... 'marketing'...with an advantage IMO.... this topic needs to be moved to be fair .

Spanner, in Australia we have a saying, "#$%* off and mind your own business"  Maybe that should apply here.
Hondaman can and has put this thread where it belongs and i can't for the life of me find any reason why you would go off half cocked about it, also notice that you are the only one with a problem and where i come from that would make you the problem. Let it go mate, i am not too sure whats going on in your life at the moment but you are starting to make a habit of trolling threads and it really isn't doing your credibility any good..

Putting the "Hondaman" Transistorized Ignition on my CB500T, means better starts, and no more messing with the points = more time to ride.

The HondaMan Ignition....

Something I sought since the first day I heard about it.....an excellent upgrade for many reasons!
The want for one increased with each read from people who have installed and are running the unit...

So I finally ordered mine!....
Haven't gotten to a point in my build where I can install it yet... but I can tell you this:

It is a TOP notch product....built with absolute LOVE.
You can see this in each crimped connector....
And, the final fit and finish when I took it out of the shipping package put a smile on my face.

Not to mention the abundance of knowledge and support you dish out to all of us On this forum Mark!

You are an awesome guy...and your ignition is Quality, innovative, and a hand built product from a guy who loves what he does.

I'm excited to own one.....my bike is excited to have one....and you're going to do great with these!

I just hope it doesn't make you so busy that you don't have time to keep up with all the other stuff you do!

Cheers!

If I combined this one with Old School's mental image, would it then become sad, like, "...means less time wenching?".
 :D

Great tips, all: keep thinking!
(I think I'm getting embarrassed by the kudos parts, though...  :-[ ).

I have to admit to being stumped on a catchy name for it, though.  ???
When sending them to Israel or Switzerland, the 'product' has to have a name on it if it has wires (because they get X-rayed and homemade things won't make the cut), so I made up something and used stick-on, fancy letters. One was called " The P'amp " (for " Points Amp ", which is what is does), and I forgot the other one. Not very catchy, but got them through customs OK.

Maybe I should have a contest? I have a slightly-used unit I could offer as the prize.  ;D
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

The demons are repulsed when a man does good. Use that.
Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

I suggest "Blitzer" for the German, Dutch, Swiss and Austrian markets. "Kraftwerk" is a good one too. Actually the latter was the name of a German band that became famous with their hit Fahren, fahren auf der Autobahn.

Not wise. "nitz" comes close to the german word nichts and the Dutch niets, both words mean 'nothing'.
The abbrevation GL will do. Many will think Grand Lux where we know it stands for Greased Lightning.

I love my Hondaman ignition!  It has been the best upgrade to my bike.

The installation was easy enough that a novice like me could do it in very little time.

the product support was top notch.

I immediately noticed an improvement, in the throttle response, idle, and even with riding it harder (because of the improved throttle response) I still noticed an improvement in my gas mileage.  It definitely breathed new life into my tired old engine.

Okay, enough of my stream of thought exercise although I'll be back with more once I'm properly lubricated(beer). Gotta say though I like the "Power Mark Ignition".
