They put a ring on it and it quit puttin out. :o

Yes it's awful, just trying to lighten the mood.

Gulf disaster needs divine intervention as man's efforts have been futile.  Gulf lawmakers designate today Day of Prayer for solution/miracle.

One possible response.
If praying stopped things from spewing you would have been rendered mute long ago. ;D

This time it really is. The temp cap is reported to be working. Now in 40 or 50 years it should be all cleaned up. Makes me wonder if this has ever happened naturally and if so how many years it took to heal up.

Good question. I have heard of some places in the middle east where oil bubbles out of the ground..

I think there has always been a small amount of natural seepage but it is never an a huge scale.  21 inch bore holes 1000's of feet through the Earth's crust usually don't happen "naturally". ;D
