CB550K, Stock airbox carb jet sizes?
« on: June 26, 2010, 02:57:32 pm »
Hi all.

The previous owner of my bike said that the "worst mistake" he made was putting pod filters on the bike.  I can understand why cause it likes to bog around 5,500 RPM at higher speeds.

Now, I have the stock airbox and want to put it back on, but what size are the stock jets?  He told me he put 105s in for the pods.  Also, what else would need to be adjusted?  Thanks and sorry...I'm a carburetor noob.

In the carb FAQ, you can find a chart listing the original carb specs. jets, etc.

However, if the exhaust has been changed, this model with the PD carbs will likely need to be rejetted away from stock.

Best to do plug chops or a dyno run to get a fuel map.  So, you can know which way the fuel metering needs to be changed.
Do you know which position the slide needles are in?
