Topic: Can anyone identify this header/exhaust?

Anyone know what this is?




It's stated that it is the stock header from a '74 550f and an unknown muffler but it doesn't look like any 550f header I've ever seen.

First off, Honda did not make a 550F in '74, '75 was the first year.
Second, the header does not look even close to a 550F, click here:

Yea, I know '75 was the first year for the F but people commonly mistake the years.
 '74 was only k models and I think only had 4-4?

I have a '75 550F with stock headers right now but seeing these listed as such got me very interested in what they actually are and if they would be worth picking up if they in fact fit a 550F

yes, the '74 550K had the 4 into 4 exhaust.

how much is he asking?

$125 but after talking to him it sounds like someone dropped a supersport engine in a '74 K frame but he is not sure. The VIN on the frame does not say F so I think if the headers came off of that bike they would not fit my F model. He doesn't know anything else about them.

It is no way a stock header or muffler.

Looks aftermarket.  Which probably means it can be mounted on either an F or K model.  The head ports are the same.  And frame mounting is usually custom adaptation anyway.

Personally, I wouldn't pay $125 for that.
