Found this old thread after a few minutes of searching, Jesse will be racing a '82 Katana next season.
1166cc, JMR-head, mild cams and GSX-R 750 carbs just to make things a bit easier after two seasons of 150cc two stroke racing.

I offered him three choices for an engine, 1166cc, 1327cc 11:1 compression, or 1327cc 13,5:1 compression. He said, "Dad... how about stock? It still has four times the power of the old bike?"  ::)

This team has only one sensible member and he is the oldest one of us  ;D
Problem is, Juha don't have any useable stock parts, so He'll throw in some small Mikuni's and set the rev limiter at 8500... easy to upgrade from that when he gets used to the bike.

Sam. ;) ;D

Jesse won the qualification, I qualified third.
Too tired to write a full story about the race right now but we both improved our PB's quite a bit.
Jesse @ 1/8 7.3 and me @ 1/4 9.48

Well Done Jesse
Still plan on getting the GS up to the dyno soon
Just been so busy in my own shop (7 days a week untill mid night)
Just straitened out the cams on my 840GS (Dont ask)
the 1168 is still a monster
again well done Jessy and cant wait to hear that you waxed your dads butt one day.

Jim, I had the Katana engine running for the first time just 10 hours before the first run down the strip, no time to dyno or tune anything, just used my old notes and they were pretty damn close.
