We're working on a how-to for the gallery, but let me try to help.

When you first login after confirming your account, you'll be in your personal album.  To add a picture, select 'Add Items' from the left menu, use the browse button to find the picture you want to post and add a caption.  You can add up to 4 pictures at a time this way.  When you've selected all of the images, click the 'Add Items' button at the bottom.

I had to fix something to get the 'Add Items' link to show for every album.  It does now, so it should be more apparent how to add images.

If you upload images using Gallery Remote, or even from within the gallery and include titles, descriptions, etc. but they don't appear when you return to viewing the album, at the lower right of the screen when you are viewing the album there is a selection of either summary, or detail. You need to select detail to see the text accompanying the images.

You not only need to create a new account on the gallery (use your forum id and password), but you also need to activate your account by clicking the link that gets emailed to you.

I'm looking for the option that sets it to list the image details by default.

Here are some instructions for the various methods of uploading images to your gallery if anyone needs them.

I think my pictures may be too big. They say 1.5 mega byte? I am new to this photography on the computer thing. Can anyone tell me how to reduce these pics or do I have to take new pics and reduce them through the camera? I'm pretty slow with stuff like this but once I catch on,I'll be gettin' after it! I want to post my pics on here now though.....Thanks!---- mrbreeze

What kind of camera are you using? What is the name of the photo software you are using on your PC? You can usually reduce the size and compress photos in either or both locations.

Hey Bob. It's acually a cheap #$%* camera that my mom had laying around and never used. SiPix. My son said it was a cheapo but as I have been pumping my cash into the bike, Xmas debt, newly acquired 95' Toyota Tacoma, bike, bike boots, stuff like eating,gasoline,rent,entertainment,bike,utilities,and.... Oh Yeah!... The Bike!!.Anyhow..yeah...I am going to try and splurge sometime soon and buy me a decent camera. Meantime,I will experiment with this one and see if I can reduce the pics to fit on the gallery.Talk to you later.

Usually there are some settings for the camera that allow you select the image size, hard to say how the settings might be labeled on your camera though, could be Large, Medium, Small or could by dimensions such as 640x480, etc. Once transferred to your PC, whatever photo software you are using should also allow you to save the picture in a variety of formats (e.g., TIFF, JPG, GIF, etc.) or it might even have a "save for WEB" under the file menu. JPG is a good format for compressing images.

OK,I figured out how to reduce the pic size on the camera and the gallery now accepts them but I don't see how to put them into "My personal gallery". I can't even bring up my gallery. When I registered the other day,I had it but my pics were too big and wouldn't load. Now they load but can't put them in!....HELLLLLLPPPPP!!! please?

I , for one, don't like the new gallery at all.
With the old, you could add text to pics, get responses , etc.
It was allot more user friendly, with the ability for project updates, etc...
The new gallery just seems way too "cold" , for better words...

I see your point.  You can add text to the gallery images by selecting the 'Add Comment' option from the left menu.  Comments can be added to any image by any registered member.  It isn't perfect, but it does provide some of the functionality that you miss.

If anyone plans to use Gallery Remote to load pics, it's handy for loading a batch and gives you the opportunity to add labels/comments, etc. and to put them in order of appearance. If the order matters to you, when you add the pictures to Gallery Remote, you can move them up and down the list in the right-hand pane. However, you might think the photo you place at the top of the list will appear first in the Gallery. It's the opposite, bottom of list appears first in the gallery and it appears that the last photo in your gallery is the thumbnail used. However, you can redesignate a particular phota as your pers. gallery thumbnail by using the drop-down menu and selecting it as the "highlight."
