I agree - it does seem that they exaggerate the lack of coverage from a conventional headlight. Watching their play from the rider's seat, it seems to me that my GL1800 has far more coverage and doesn't cut off with such a narrow beam - especially with the high beams on. the Wing has conventional halogen lamps of 55 Watt each, and there are two of them for low and another two for high beam, all coming on with high. That's a conventional bike today, which is probably one of the best available; but what BMW is/should be comparing to. So I don't think they have anything to really get excited about - other than they have improved the coverage from their very narrowly focused beam.
Now the older models like the SOHC4's...
