Candy Gold or Flake Sunrise Orange?
« on: July 05, 2010, 07:42:21 AM »
This is a spare tank I picked up. It's not the tank that's original to my '71 CB500 and doesn't match the side covers I have, either.
Looking at Spooky Tom's website, I'm trying to determine if it's Candy Gold or Flake Sunrise Orange. I'm leaning toward the orange, but it actually looks pretty red in real life. There wasn't a red option for the CB500 that I'm aware of.
Anyone have a better pic of the Flake Sunrise?

It looks about the same as our 73 CB500.  It looks orange to me.  The back area of the tank that is covered by the seat seems to be the least faded paint on our tank.

I'd say no doubt flake sunrise orange. I have a 550 that color so know it well. Also, my son is restoring the 550 KO with the same paint scheme and it has faded in exactly the same way, only worse.
