750 K0 slides and needle questions
« on: July 05, 2010, 01:13:21 PM »
I'm taking apart one of my carbs to check the needle position the former owner set them at and had a couple of questions: which way do the slides face? With the part of the barrel that has the indentation facing toward the engine, or towards the airbox? Also, how do I get the needle out of the slide? Do I just force it up?

Hello Zoo,
K0 carb slide is not exactly as K3. But from my K3 experience - the cutout section at bottom skirt of throttle valve faces to the airbox. But the keyway slot in the valve is designed to slide in the male key on the carb body - so you should only be able to put it back in the right way...from memory.
Can't answer re the needle removal as mine has screws and base plate holding in the needle. Hopefully there is a higher class of guru online to help you further Zoo.
Regards
Mark

Correct, the cut out faces the air box. To remove that needle you just need to snap out the black snap holder in there. Then it will come right out. Be careful to just snap it out. You do not want to bend it all up.
