Another CB400f
« on: July 06, 2010, 05:11:37 am »
Hey guys this is my CB400f I am restoring, seems to be popular on this site to do the CB400f.  I'll post a pic of it in original form that was about 2 years ago, it has been a long rebuild.  I bought it as my first bike in 2005 to learn on, I wanted to get away from the always popular plastic CBR250RR that every one was getting into.  A friend of mine spotted it in Canberra for $900, I later found out the previous owner had just paid $930 to rebuild the top end.  I rode it as my every day transport around Darwin in original form and had a ball with it.  I managed to take it to a couple of track days in Darwin which was fantastic.

When I moved to Brisbane I purchased a VTR1000 as my daily rider and started fixing the old girl.  After a year I decided just to pull the girl apart and start from scratch.  The goal is just to tidy it up and modify a few things just to make it stand out a little:

And here is what I have done to the wheels:

Anyone know where to get the mounting adapters for fitting a 5 ohm Dyna Coil?  And the ignition cables to fit as well?  I have tried to contact MC Again but as I don't speak Japanese I can't even said a question.  Any help would be appreciated.

Break Question
« Reply #5 on: December 15, 2011, 03:11:36 pm »
Does anyone know if, and what size the bleed hole is in the front brake master cylinder for the CB400f?  I thought mine was working but the LBM showed concern that it was blocked.  Any ideas on the best way to clean it out?

Remove the bleeder valve and blow air through it.  If fluid is not coming out when you bleed the brakes it could be clogged.  Have fun with the build...Larry
