DYNA 2000 diagnostic
« on: July 06, 2010, 05:24:19 PM »
Has anyone dealt with the "lashing light" error with a dyna 2000? according to the instructions:

."NOTE: If the red LED flashes rapidly with the engine not running, there are two possibilities. First, if the D2K4C-P has been programmed with custom curves, then the first four switch settings on the advance knob are the only positions that allow the ignition to run. Select one of the first four curves and turn the ignition off for one second. Anther situation is coil overcurrent fault has occurred. Check for proper coil resistance (2.2 to 5 ohms) and check for shorted wiring to the ignition coils. Turn the ignition off for one second, and back on to clear the fault."

I have not programmed any curves, so the first part is irrelevant. My (2.2 ohm) coils measure at 3 ohms, and I can find no shorts in the ignition wiring. After sitting for a bit, it will switch on normally once or twice, then goes back to the flashing signal. The coils don't appear to be heating up.

I can't get anyone at Dynatek on the phone. Anyone have experience with this fault?
